Lieutenant Gregory Adams is the chief engineer in the Mass Effect trilogy. He served on every starship in the Alliance Navy. He was hand-picked by David Anderson to serve on the Normandy.

Involvement[]

Mass Effect[]

Adams is first seen with his friend Navigator Pressly talking about the Normandy's communication system when Commander Shepard goes to meet a turian Spectre named Nihlus Kryik. When Adams hears about Corporal Richard L. Jenkins' death on Eden Prime, he will be sad about it.

Unlike Pressly, who at first distrusts the non-human crew members, Adams doesn't seem to have any problems with them. He will even tell Shepard that he is impressed with Tali'Zorah nar Rayya's technical skills and knowledge, even if she isn't human. Since then, he and Tali worked quite well together in the engine room.

He didn't have a problem with Shepard after they stole the Normandy and headed to Ilos to pursue former Spectre Saren Arterius.

Mass Effect 2[]

"Attack on the Normandy"[]

Engineer Adams was among the crew members to survive the attack on the Normandy. Unlike Dr. Karin Chakwas and Joker, he didn't rejoin Shepard on the new Normandy SR-2.

Mass Effect 3[]

Adams returns to the Alliance-refitted Normandy SR-2 as the chief engineer after Shepard returned to Earth. He was the first to know that EDI isn't a VI but an AI. He later admits to Shepard that he refused Chakwas' request when he was offered to help take down the Collectors and apologizes to the commander.

After a while, something happened to EDI and Greg waited for Shepard to come and investigate on deck 3. Shepard finds Adams at the AI Core door with a fire extinguisher. When they enter the room, it was full of smoke and fire and Adans puts them out. EDI reveals to be alright, but only has taken over Eva Core's body, Adams started to work on some computers while Shepard talks to her about obtaining the body.

When nearing the Battle for Earth against the Reapers, Adams will tell Shepard that the Normandy is ready and if Gabriella Daniels and Kenneth Donnely are present, he will remark that they are ready as well. He then greets the commander goodbye.
